Police in Kathmandu district on Sunday evening arrested 10 persons allegedly involved in gambling offences from Gongabu Chowk in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26. They were nabbed from Fidra Joshi's residence.
One of the arrested has been identified as Sarita Joshi (45), a resident of Sanga in Kavre district while the names of the other nine have not been disclosed.
Acting on a tip-off, joint security personnel deployed from the Kathmandu-based Metropolitan Police Sector and Gongabu-based Metropolitan Police Division nabbed them and also seized Rs 215,500 cash as stake money and three decks of cards from their possession.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
