The Election Commission of Nepal has sought clarification from Durlav Thapa, contesting election from Bhaktapur constituency no 2 for the House of Representatives election.
The Commission sought 24-hour clarification from Thapa for running an election campaign allegedly violating the election code of conduct issued given the upcoming Provincial Assembly and House of Representatives election on November 20.
A complaint was filed against Thapa after he had put Nepali Congress's flag, flex print, and banners with his photos in major thoroughfares of wards no 2, 3, 4, and 6 of Suryabinayak Municipality in Bhaktapur district.
Similarly, the EC has also sought 24-hour clarification from the Chairperson of Kathamndu Metropolitan City-16, Mukunda Rijal for posting the content regarding the publicity of the Nepali Congress on Social sites.
Likewise, the EC has sought 24-hour clarification from Krishna Kumar Shrestha, House of Representatives candidate from Bara constituency-4.
Shrestha is accused of running an election campaign violating the election code of conduct. The Commission had received a video clip where the candidate of CPN (Unified Socialist) had promised the prospective voters of 'free visa, free ticket' for those seeking foreign employment.
