Police arrested a youth in possession of illegal pharmaceutical drugs in Dhobighat, Lalitpur Metropolitan-4 on Wednesday.
The arrested has been identified as Nishcal Regmi (24) of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-4 in Morang district.
Security personnel deployed from the Koteshwor-based Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Regmi after he was found possessing 20.5 grams of Amphetamine during a routine check.
Further investigation into the case is underway after taking a general date from Lalitpur District Court, informed NCB.
Similarly, Police in Kailali district arrested a youth in possession of 60 tablets of Nitravet and 16 tablets of Spasmo-proxy from Rampur in Tikapur Municipality-3 on Thursday evening.
The arrested has been identified as Dilip Rai (25) of Bhartapur in the same municipality in the district.
Rai allegedly purchased those drugs from the drug store owned by Lautan Chaudhary, a local resident of Tikapur-6, said the police. Police also seized additional 600 tablets of Nitravet and 96 tablets of spasmo-proxy from Chaudhary's shop. They had hidden the controlled drugs in Noodles packet.
Meanwhile, police apprehended Chaudhary's wife since Chaudhary is at large.
Similarly, police arrested two persons in possession of 400 grams of marijuana from Tulsi Marg in Pokhara Metropolitan City-11 in Kaski district, on Thursday night.
The arrested have been identified as Chandra Bahadur Tamang (33) of Rampur in Ramechhap district, and Bikash Nepali (29) of Ramghat in Pokhara-11.
They were riding on a motorcycle (Ga 5 Pa 5031). Security personnel deployed from the Ram Bazar-based Ward Police Office arrested the duo after recovering marijuana from their possession during a vehicle routine check.
Further investigations into the cases are being carried out, informed the police.
