Independent candidate for the major post in Kathmandu Metropolitan City has maintained its lead. According to the latest results, the independent candidate for the major post Balendra Shah has maintained his lead by getting 5,692 votes.
Keshav Sthapit of the CPN-UML polled 2,992 votes and Sirjana Singh of the Nepali Congress polled 2,692 votes, according to the Office of the Returning Officer. UML candidate for the post of deputy chief Sunita Dangol got 5,896 votes and Rameshwar Shrestha of the CPN-Unified Socialist Party got 1,632 votes.
The Election Office has also stated that it is preparing to add counting centers. Currently, the votes of the CPN (Maoist) are being counted from the National Assembly. At present 2, 3, 4, 5, 31 and 32 votes are being counted.
The results of Ward No. 1 have been made public on Sunday. According to the poll results, UML candidate Bharat Lal Shrestha has won the post.
Kathmandu District Election Officer Prem Kumar Shrestha informed that the results of ward two will be made public soon. It is stated that 14 thousand 778 votes have been counted in the party so far.
