The Kathmandu Metropolitan City is planning to develop it as a park city. The city has started construction of the park by giving priority to the lack of open space for people.
The corporation has started a campaign to build parks in all the wards and Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya has appealed to the locals to help in this. Mayor Shakya called on all locals to help implement the policy of constructing parks in all wards. On Saturday, he inaugurated the Jingu Ichchhumati Park in Ward No. 28 of Kathmandu.
He also complained that despite the provision of an adequate budget for the construction of parks in all the wards within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, they could not be built due to a lack of support from the locals. There is enough budget, but the park could not be built in some places due to lack of support from the locals, said Mayor Shakya. He also reiterated the commitment of Kathmandu Metropolitan City to build a good park and a good corridor. Mayor Shakya said, "We have made a policy that at least one park should be built in every ward."
There are many public lands. To upgrade the existing parks, we have allocated a sufficient budget for the construction of new parks where there are no parks. It is not a problem of budget but it cannot be done without the help of locals. Where locals help, it's easier to work naturally. Where there is no support from the locals, there are obstacles, it is difficult to work, ”he said.
