It has decided not to file a complaint against the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane.

Yuvraj Paudel of Sindhuli filed a complaint at the district police complex in Kathmandu saying that Lamichhane had taken the passport by giving false information. But the police refused to register Lamichhane's citizenship case as they could not get it from the Supreme Court.

After that, he submitted a petition to the district attorney's office saying that the police refused to file a complaint. The Public Prosecutor's Office has decided to hold the complaint, saying that there is no need to do anything about it, as it has received information that an investigation is underway at the District Police Complex, Kathmandu.

"In this regard, an investigation has been started on the complaint lodged at the District Police Complex, Kathmandu. After the investigation, nothing more needs to be done on the complaint received here," said Achutamani Neupane, head of the District Public Prosecutor's Office, Kathmandu,, "Therefore, the decision was made to hold this complaint."

The Public Prosecutor's Office had previously requested details from the District Administration Office Kathmandu, Passport Department, and Immigration Department regarding Lamichhane's passport. The public prosecutor's office said that there was no response from other agencies except the district administration office. The district administration official said that Lamichhane had written a reply that the records of citizenship were found, a government lawyer said.

A few months ago, the complaint was filed with the Ministry of Home Affairs and reached the District Police Complex in Kathmandu via the District Administration Office. According to the public prosecutor's office, it was found that the district police complex had sought information from the immigration department, passport department, and other agencies during the investigation.

Now, only after the police complete the investigation and submit the report, the public prosecutor's office will study it and take a further decision.
