Krishna Prasad Parajuli of Parbat holds a PhD in Cognitive Linguistics from Lumiere University in Lyon, France. In his research, Parajuli of Kundadi, Parbat Bihadi Gaonpalika-3, has mentioned how any speaker expresses his ideas or concepts in Nepali language verbs, especially the verb verbs (entering, exiting, walking, running).
After graduating from Nepal Tara Secondary School Parbat, Parajuli, a 53-year-old graduate (2001) from the Central Department of Linguistics, University Campus, was directed by Prof. Dr. Aneta Kopechka (University of Lumiere, France) and Prof. Dr. Scott Dilanse (University of Oregon, USA). Dr. Parajuli, who has been in office for five and a half years, was handed a doctorate by French Ambassador to Pakistan Jill Buccabeo on Friday.
Dr. Parajuli said that this was his first study in Nepal and second in South Asia in Cognitive Linguistics. Earlier, Bhuvana Narasimhan of India had done a comparative study of English and Hindi in this genre, he said. "My research has paved the way for the study of endangered and other languages spoken in Nepal," said Dr. Parajuli, who has a doctorate in Motion Events in Nepali.
