The Memorial Day of Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, the National Hero of Nepal, was celebrated today. On the occasion of her 30th year of climbing Mount Everest, a program was organized in Kathmandu today to commemorate her contribution. She successfully climbed Mount Everest as the first Nepali woman on April 22, 1993.
A tribute was paid to her this morning at the shrine of Pasang Lhamu Sherpa in Boudha Chuchepati.
President of Pasang Lhamu Foundation and former ambassador to Spain Dawaphuti Sherpa, former minister of tourism and former president of the foundation Kripasur Sherpa, American director of Pasang movie recently premiered in Kathmandu, Nancy Svdensen, family members of Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, president and vice president of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Village, and others expressed tributes by offering garlands and khadas.
Before that, Buddhist worship was performed by Buddhist Lama Gurus at the same place.
