Prohibitory order likely to be extended in Kathmandu valley

The prohibitory order in Kathmandu valley is likely to be extended in Kathmandu valley. The order could be extended for a further 15 days.

Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur, Prem Prasad Bhattarai, mentioned that the chief district officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur will sit for a meeting today to decide on how long the prohibitory order will be extended and its modality.

He also informed that the meeting that is scheduled for 1 pm will also decide on whether or not to allow the operation of long-distance public transportation services from Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, Dhundi Prasad Niraula, Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, also confirmed that discussions have been going on regarding extending the prohibitory order for another 15 days and also on whether to allow the resumption of long-distance public transportation services.

The prohibitory order was imposed in Kathmandu valley from April 29 to stop the spread of the second wave of the coronavirus and it has been continuously extended till date.
