The “Service Award Nepal'' awarded every year by the former administrator late Badri Bikram Thapa Memorial Trust has been given to Nepal Eye Hospital Tripureshwor this year. Nepal Eye Hospital has made a great contribution in the field of eye treatment in Nepal. The hospital was established 50 years ago. President of the hospital Gopal Prasad Pokharel said that the aim of the hospital is to make eye treatment easily accessible to everyone.
Similarly, Badri Bikram Rashtra Gaurav Award has been given to former secretary Bharat Bahadur Thapa. He worked in civil service for 38 years. After working in different offices in different political systems of the country, he retired from the post of Thapa Secretary.
On the occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of Badri bikram Thapa, the former Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University Kedarbhakta Mathema presented the award to Chairman of Nepal Eye Hospital Dr Gopal Pokharel and former Secretary Thapa.
The amount of both awards is 222 thousand 222 rupees.
Late Badri Bikram Thapa, who was born in Sindhuli, worked for a long time in the social service and administrative sector of Nepal. The trust opened in his memory has been awarding prizes to personalities who have made significant contributions in the social, administrative, educational and other fields of the country.
On this occasion, various personalities were honored for their service in different fields.
Similarly, Satya Mohan Joshi Commemorative Issue has also been published in memory of late Satya Mohan Joshi.
In the program, Minister of Labor and Social Security Sharatsingh Bhandari, Ex Deputy Prime Minister and President of RPP Kamal Thapa, Former Minister Shashi Shrestha, President of the Trust and Chancellor of Tribhuvan University Kedar Bhakta Mathema, Former Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University Prof. Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma, Treasurer of the Trust Kiran Thapa discussed the contribution of Badri Bikram Thapa in the social and administrative sector of Nepal.
