Since his childhood, LaMa, a traveller and musician, has enjoyed singing and composing. "I don't say singing is my career, but it is a passion and pleasure of mine." He recently published the song 'Khilba Sem,' which is a Tamang word for an inquiring heart. "I release songs once a year that are all about my trip adventures," he continues.
His most recent song is about his trip trekking in Khumbu last February. "I noticed a man carrying a large basket of oranges to sell. It was the bad weather that inspired me to write the song," he says.
He began to have millions of questions in his thoughts, such as: what if the weather stays the same and he won't be able to sell any, what if he is meant to sell all of them and use the money he got to buy daily food for his family? All of his interest after witnessing that man can be heard in his song.
He continues, "Khilba Sem was a state of my emotions at the time actually inspired by a moment." So, he’d want to dedicate this song to all the hardworking people who have spent their lives in the high Himalayas walking multiple days from their home to earn a living, as well as to all the kind hearts who assist them earn a living by buying from them.
