Aama art gallery was established 2 years from today by artist Dinesh Thapa at Pepsicola. “Aama Art Gallery is a blessing from my mother. She’s always been my lucky charm that is why I named my art gallery, Aama Art Gallery,” reminisces Thapa.

In the beginning Thapa faced many obstacles due to pandemic and rent problems. However, he never thought of giving up. Aama Art Gallery is not only a gallery where someone comes and buys the art work but also a place where any artist out there is welcome to join them and even if someone is new to art they can easily join the gallery and learn with the people at the gallery themselves.

“When I first opened my gallery people used to say that I would never be able to achieve anything. That the investment would go to waste. They also said that I would be wasting my time but I never let those thoughts infiltrate my mind. Rather than money, I always wanted to learn more and share what I have learned,”shares Thapa.

Having a different career interest in life than the preconceived jobs that society deems to be “respectable” can make surviving in the very society very difficult. The local resident of Pepsicola 31 years old Thapa has been working as a plumber for so many years that he is known more as a water doctor than a landscape artist. “People might not know me and my work today but that has never bothered me because I am happy with all the things that I have got and with all that I can create,”says Thapa.

Going abroad for jobs and studies has become so popular among the youth today. Thapa doesn't believe that the way to get successful and become happy in life is to chase wealth. “I see my country as full of beauty and opportunities. Whenever I travel around our nation I wonder why many youths today want to leave our nation rather than doing something here. Life is not only about having lots of money in our bank account but also about living the way we want to and doing what we love,” Thapa says.

It’s never too late to start something, Thapa started his landscape art journey watching his neighbour drawing. “I always wanted to do something new as one thing never excites me for long. When I first started doing arts I fell in love with all the beautiful things that I can create with paint and brush. So, I decided to learn and do more,” says Thapa.

Maha kabi Laxmi Prasad Devekota and Writer Vairab Aryal have always been a huge inspiration for Thapa as they were not only good writers but also great personalities who were very famous for their good and inspiring thoughts. “I always try to inspire my juniors and students that if you have interest and passion for something then it is never too late. Interest, continuity, and hard work are the keys towards success. Anyone can achieve anything if they have the skill but at the same time anyone can be anybody if they have the full intensity and positive mentality to achieve that goal,”says Thapa.

Working hard and following his passion for almost 12 years now Thapa has been very successful in selling most of his art works in the nation and abroad as well. America, Canada, the U.K and Japan are the international markets that Thapa has been successful in exporting his artwork to. Thapa dreams about opening more branches of Aama Art Gallery around the nation so that he can inspire many more young artists to follow their dreams.
