The Ministry of Health and Population has said that there is no need to panic if you get an eye disease (viral conjunctivitis).
Co-spokesperson of the Ministry, Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, urged people not to panic and get treated at home, as the disease of the eye has been observed in various places across the country. He said that if you take care of your eyes at home, the infection will be cured within one to two weeks.
According to the ministry, the number of patients in eye hospitals across the country is increasing due to eye diseases in various districts of Nepal. "Since this disease is contagious, it can easily spread from one person to another," said Dr. Adhikari. He said that one should not come in close contact with an infected person, should not go to schools, markets and places/public places where infected people are crowded, should not use handkerchiefs, towels, pillows, and towels used by infected people.
Symptoms
The main symptoms of eye disease are red and itchy eyes, tears flowing from the eyes or watery eyes, redness of the eyelids, swelling, eye irritation/pain, and difficulty seeing in the sun or bright light.
