It has been discovered that the brick industry of Tulsipur in Dang employs child labor. It has been found that there are around three hundred and fifty child laborers in the brick industry within the sub-metropolis. According to the data collected by the active project under the base organization, 348 children are in labor.
According to a study conducted in 15 brick factories out of 17 in the sub-metropolis, there are 180 boys and 168 girls, said Pinki Chaudhary, program officer of the base organization. "We have monitored the brick industries in the sub-metropolis and looked at the situation there in detail. It has been found that there are many child laborers there," he said.
At present, the organization has shown interest in rescuing child laborers in the brick industries by making them public. Kumar Lamichhane, coordinator of the social development committee, informed that the policy of not allowing child labor in the industry has been formulated and is being implemented.
Chairman of the Dang Deukhuri Brick Industry Entrepreneurs Committee, Prem Nath Yogi, said that the ones who work in the industry are dependent families and not the children.
