33-year-old Subash Raut of Jhapa, Kankai Municipality, who was sentenced to death by the Qatar government for the murder of his friend, has returned to Nepal.
Three years ago, Suwash was sentenced to death by the Qatar government for the murder of Lamakaji Rai of Khotang who lived in his room.
Raut said that on holidays, friends from other companies also came to his room and Rai died after a fight. But Raut had been saying that he was innocent in the incident.
After hearing the news of the death sentence, mother Durgamaya passed away.
Raut was returned to the country three years after blood money was paid to the victim's family.
The committee formed to bring Raut back home had collected 20 lakh 24 thousand rupees from Nepalis living in the country and abroad.
