Domestic flights of the country are generally affected due to bad weather.
The Tribhuvan International Airport office informed that the flights to Pokhara, Bharatpur, Tumlingtar and other destinations have been affected due to low visibility due to heavy winds.
According to airport spokesperson Teknath Sitaula, flights to three domestic destinations including Pokhara have been completely affected. Simra flight has just opened. Flights to Pokhara, Bharatpur and Tumlingtar have not opened yet. Although flights have not been able to take place in three destinations so far, flights have started in some destinations as soon as the weather clears up.
According to the airport, there are 115 domestic flights scheduled today. Since three days air flights have been affected due to the increase in air pollution in the capital along with other parts of the country. Last Friday and Saturday flights to Pokhara were also affected.
International flights were affected for some time in the morning, spokesperson Sitaula said. The plane of Qatar Airways took a 'miss approach' in the wrong direction at the airport and was 'held' for about two hours.
According to the Water and Weather Forecasting Division, there is currently a partial influence of local winds as well as western winds in the country. Because of this, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province have partial to normal weather conditions and the rest of the land is generally clear to partial weather conditions.
There has been heavy rain in the sky of the capital Kathmandu valley since last Friday.
