Baglung's Jaimini municipality has not paid attention to waste management, which has affected the entire settlement.
Locals say that the garbage from Kushmishera, the commercial and administrative center of the municipality, is stinking due to bad garbage disposal management.
On the road from Kushmisera to Jaiminighat, garbage is dumped on the side of the road at a place called Pokch. Shobhakhar Sharma, a resident of Jaimini-1 Kushmisera, said that although he submitted a 23-point demand letter to the municipality demanding waste management, it was not heard. He said, "As much as Kusmishera's garbage has been thrown randomly into the river, and roadside. If garbage management is not given immediate attention, more complications may arise here."
Captain Padam Bahadur Srish, chairman of the market management committee, complained that there is garbage everywhere and the municipality does not show much interest in garbage management.
Nar Bahadur Pun, head of Jaimini town, said that the stench was spreading when the locals piled garbage on the side of the road.
