The National Independent Party has demanded the formation of a parliamentary special committee to investigate the case of fake Bhutanese refugees.
Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting held on Wednesday, National Independent Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane demanded the formation of a parliamentary special committee to investigate the case of fake Bhutanese refugees.
"We have been repeatedly raising the issue of corruption. We have been expressing our doubts about the presence of three political parties. Today, there is no political party left that is yet to be accused. Not only that, the names of state agencies are coming like this, the names of investigating officers and their heads are coming. In this case, it is not an activity in a dark room, in an alley."
Chairman Lamichhane said, "In the afternoon, transactions such as these are coming in the prime minister's office in Baluwatar, in the minister's quarter, in the Singh Darbar where the minister lives. Who should we trust in this state? Therefore, the environment of trust has been closed. For this, a parliamentary special committee should be formed to investigate it."
Chairman Lamichhane said that the current investigation cannot give the results that the people want and Parliament should form a special committee for the investigation. He objected that all those named in this case were not questioned. He also demanded a statement from all those who were named.
"Every person whose name came up had to be interrogated. He had to be brought under the scope of action. In our case, in the case of ordinary citizens, there is a history of being arrested and taken away by saying that they are coming to give a statement. I am the person who was caught from the newsroom,'' Chairman Lamichhane said. The police chief has said that the audio is correct. Who are they who should not be called for questioning once? We will never allow this to happen in such a big international disgrace. This investigation cannot give the results that the Nepali people want. Parliament should form a special committee. I want to request and demand.''
He asked those named in the case to be investigated.
