There is a shortage of chemical fertilizer in Dang district. Farmers are suffering every year due to the shortage.
Yagya Bahadur Chaudhary, a farmer of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolis-16, said that there is a problem with the shortage. "Last year, we planted maize without urea fertilizer as we did not get fertilizer on time. We planted paddy without fertilizer as well," he said. "The problem is the same this year as well."
Tirtha Raj Neupane, head of the Tulsipur branch of Krishi Samagri Company Limited, said that chemical fertilizer could not be provided as per the demand of farmers. He said that there is still a shortage of chemical fertilizers.
The Agriculture Knowledge Center had provided 497 metric tons of fertilizer for Dang as three agricultural material companies distribute it. Chief Neupane said that out of 226 metric tonnes of DAP fertilizer required for Krishi Samagri Company Limited Tulsipur, only 50-60 tonnes are yet to arrive.
