Floods in Karnali destroys canal dam

The flood in Karnali River has destroyed the canal dam of Rani Jamra Kulariya Irrigation Project. According to Pushkar Pant, Inspector at the Area Police Office, Chisapani, most parts of Janaki and Tikapur are at risk after the river flooded into the canal of the Irrigation Project. Inspector Pant informed that the danger of returning to the west of the river has increased at any time.

As the water level is rising, the residents of the coastal area are panicing. Residents of Tikapur Municipality and Janaki Municipality of Kailali and Rajapur Municipality and Geruwa Municipality of Bardiya are being shifted to safer places.

The surface of the river at places including Mulpani, Daulatpurghat, Shahipur and Sattighat bridges of Karnali river towards Kailali.
