President Ramchandra Paudel has said that it should not be forgotten that the countries affected by climate change, including Nepal, are the main beneficiaries of the financial and technical assistance prepared to minimize the effects of climate change. Addressing the 40th anniversary ceremony of ICIMOD, he made it clear that the effects of climate change, environmental and biodiversity loss will not be within the national borders, but cross-border and global.

Paudel said - 'Currently the world is in crisis due to human-made climate change, loss of biological diversity, and environmental pollution. The impact of climate change is more widespread in mountainous Himalayan regions such as the Hindu Kush Himalayas due to the mountainous sensitive terrain and weak economic and social factors.

He said that the government of Nepal has prioritized cooperation with neighboring countries and international partners in issues related to climate change, environmental degradation, disaster risk reduction, biological diversity protection, and livelihood issues. President Paudel said that Nepal is always committed to the institutional development of ICIMOD and the sustainable development of the entire Hindu Kush mountain region, and Nepal's support will continue in the future.
