Nepal-Oman literature and nature, organized

The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat, Oman organized a webinar on the theme ''Nepal- Oman Literature & Nature: Posthumous Recognition to Late Mr. Mohamed Al Harthi, The Eternal Traveler’’ in order to pay tributes to Late Mr. Mohamed Al Harthi and also provide a common platform to Nepali and Omani literary persons and nature lovers. Besides his several literary works, late Mr. Al Harthi has written a travelogue in Arabic language describing touristic places surrounding Kathmandu Valley.

On the occasion, Ambassador of Nepal to Oman, Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal highlighted the importance of literature and also explained about the interrelationship between nature and literature. She also presented A Letter of Honor as a posthumous recognition to Late Mr. Mohamed Al Harthi being received by his daughter Ms. Ibtihaj Al-Harthi.

Also, Dhakal virtually launched the website dedicated to Late Mr. Mohamed Al Harthi.

Guest of Honour of the program Ms. Azhar Al Harthi, director of Oman Cultural Club gave a brief information about Late Mohammed Al Harthi. Some prominent figures from Nepal and Oman including Ms. Ibtihaj Al-Harthi , Author and Illustrator of Children’s Book, Dr. Ethan Chorin, Translator of the book written by Mohammed Al Harthi, Dr. Jokha Al Harthi, winner of Man Booker International Prize 2019, Ms. Nadhira Al-Harthi, first women summiteer of Mount Everest from Oman, Legendary poet Professor Dr. Tulasi Diwas, Adventurist Ms. Baida Al Zadjali, Ms. Ines Pires, President of International School of Diplomacy and Protocol Group, Dr. Amira Al Raidan from Ministry of Health of Oman, eminent Nepali poet Mr. Nawaraj Parajuli, columnist Ms. Laxmi Kothaneth, Educationist and Business Women Ms. Maggie Jeans OBE, Adventurist Ms. Janey Mcgill, Omani Women of the Year 2019 Dr. Rajyashree Narayankutty, Mr. Bikal Jha, President of Nepali Social Club put forward their remarks about the role of nature in literature relating it to promotion of tourism.

Speaking at the program popular communicator Mansi Agrawal highlighted the advantages of visiting Nepal with the help of her popular video.

Similarly, Nawaraj Parajuli shared his experience of literary translation works and also tried to reflect upon the immortal contribution of late Mr. Al Harthi.

Guest participants appreciated this initiative of Nepal Embassy in Muscat and suggested that similar efforts of all the Nepalese missions would contribute to promote Nepali art and literature.

 NRNA Representative DB Chhetri, Ambassador Saleh Sulaiman Al Harthi, Social worker Dr. Chitra Narayan, officials from the Embassy of Nepal in Muscat and various other participants from Nepal and Oman attended the program held on Saturday.
