Bodies of 24 Nepalis brought to Nepal from Malaysia

The bodies of 24 people who died in Malaysia during employment were brought to Nepal. The bodies had been stranded in Malaysia for some time due to the inability of regular flights during the pandemic. The Department of Foreign Employment has stated that the bodies were brought after the ship of wide-body aircraft left.

After bringing the body of the young man and was handad it over to his family,  there were other bodies which had to be brought from Malaysia. According to the board, at least 25 bodies have yet to be brought from Malaysia.

In other countries, young people who have gone for employment are dying on a daily basis. Measures have not yet been taken to ensure the safety of the youths who have reached various destinations for employment after getting health certificates from Nepal.

According to the board, Rs. 634.09 million has been distributed to the families of 1,242 people who died in different countries in the fiscal year 2077-78 BS. Similarly, insurance companies have provided more than one billion rupees to the relatives of the deceased. The Board provides financial assistance of Rs. 7 lakh per family in case of the death of a person who has gone for foreign employment with a labor permit. In addition, insurance companies provide Rs 14-15 lakh per family to those who have a term of life. There is a rule that one cannot go for foreign employment without life insurance.
