The power expansion plan in the remote Raksirang village municipality of Makwanpur is incomplete. The work started here four years ago has not been completed yet.

In 2019, the power expansion work was started and slated to be completed within a year. Due to the delay and negligence of contractor and Nepal Electricity Authority, the power supply in all the nine wards of Raksirang village municipality has remained incomplete. The village municipality had deposited Rs 10 million in the NEA's account with a plan to replace the wooden poles.

NEA had added Rs 10 million to the amount. According to Raj Kumar Malla, chairman of the village municipality, the NEA has not paid attention to the work of electrification. According to the records kept in the office of NEA's Hetauda Distribution Center, 345 electricity poles have been installed in Khairang-Khurkot area of the village municipality, but there are only 75 poles in the area.

Chairman Malla said that poles, wires and other materials were scattered in different places of the village municipality even though all the work was found in the report records of NEA. Chairman Malla has alleged that the work was delayed due to the negligence of Electricity Authority, the contractor company, employees and the ward chairman. Chepang and Tamang communities are living in the area.
