110 new cases of coronavirus reported on Tuesday

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Tuesday reported 110 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 273,666.

Of the newly infected, 39 are females and 71 are males.

Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have reported 53 new cases of coronavirus infection — 43 in Kathmandu, four in Lalitpur and six in Bhaktapur — in the last 24 hours. Of the newly infected in the valley, 21 are females and 32 others are males.

As many as 102 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 270,068 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Tuesday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.7 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.

Likewise, the death toll from COVID-19 has reached 2,065 with four deaths reported from the disease in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 1,533 active cases in Nepal.

Meanwhile, 2,146,533 people have undergone polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

Likewise, 1,533 people have been staying in isolation while 65 others in quarantine, the MoHP reported.

Earlier on Monday, the ministry had reported 88 new cases of coronavirus that had taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 273,556.

More than 111.78 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,579,098 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 3:28 pm on February 23.
