District Police Office Chitwan has arrested 224 absconding defendants in one year. They were arrested from February 4, 2022, to January 25, 2023.
Chief Superintendent of Police Navraj Adhikari informed that during the
implementation of the verdict, they were arrested and submitted to the District Court. In a press conference organized here today to inform about the work done after the officer came to the district, he said that they were arrested because they did not come in contact with the decision of the court.
He said that they were sentenced to 50 years, three months, and seven days imprisonment. Similarly, it was informed on the occasion that a fine of Rs.1 crore 33 lahks 89 thousand 367 fines were collected.
During the same period, 1,448 petitions have been registered under 35 titles. According to the District Police Office Chitwan, there are 67 women and 1,400 men as defendants in that petition. Thirteen people have been arrested for customs evasion, export, smuggling, and revenue evasion. Goods worth Rs 6.45 lakh 99 thousand 384 were seized from them, the official said.
Four people have been arrested for crimes related to arms and ammunition. Two sawn-off pistols, two rounds of bullets, two handguns, and two hundred grams of
ammunition were seized from them. One hundred and six applications related to drugs have been registered for one year.
