The District Attorney Office, Kathmandu has sued 290 persons at District Court, Kathmandu on document forgery relating to Lalita Niwas land scam.
The Attorney Office filed the case based on the investigation report and recommendation submitted by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police. Among 290 persons made defendants on the case relating to the public land grab, 52 persons have been made defendants under land seizure purpose.
The commoners involved in the crime of forgery of official documents have been demanded one year's imprisonment while the government officers and ministers involved in it have been demanded two years' imprisonment.
With fake official documents and forgery, 143 ropanies of public land were transferred to individual ownerships. It was conducted in an organized manner, according to CIB. The CIB had recommended the District Attorney Office to sue 286 persons in this regard.
