81 new cases of coronavirus reported on Saturday

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Saturday reported 81 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 274,065.

As many as 62 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 270,325 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Saturday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 98.7 per cent as per the data released by the MoHP.

Likewise, the death toll from COVID-19 has reached 2,773 with two more deaths from COVID-19 reported in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 967 active cases in Nepal.

Meanwhile, 2,160,404 people have undergone polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

Likewise, 967 people have been staying in isolation while 62 others in quarantine, the MoHP reported.

Earlier on Friday, the ministry had reported 112 new cases of coronavirus that had taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 273,984.

More than 113.25 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 2,616,898 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 9:06 am on February 27.
