One person has been killed and another injured when a bus heading towards Kathmandu from Bhaktapur hit a scooter heading towards Kathmandu.
The deceased has been identified as Regina Tamang, 24, of Burger House, Jadibuti, Kathmandu.
The injured 18-year-old Siddharth Magar, a resident of Ramechhap Doramba Gaonpalika-5 and currently living in Kathmandu, is undergoing treatment at Bhaktapur International Hospital, Kaushaltar. Eyewitness Balram Shrestha said that the woman, who was riding on the back of the scooter, died on the spot and sustained severe head injuries.
A police team including an investigating officer from Thimi Bhaktapur Police Circle has been deployed at the spot. Police have arrested Tamang, 50, of Kavrepalanchok Timal Gaonpalika-5 Narayansthan.
