Bad weather has weakened visibility, making it difficult for airlines to land flights. Flights at various airports outside Kathmandu have also been affected.
The flight has been affected due to heavy rains, especially in the eastern part of the country. Buddha Air's Tumlingtar flight has been canceled, said Dipendra Kumar Karna, information officer of the company. Biratnagar Airport has just opened. Other airlines are also facilitating flights, the airline said.
Spokesperson of Yeti Airlines Sudarshan Bartaula said that the flight was affected at various airports across the country including Kathmandu due to bad weather. "Adverse weather has caused flight problems in some airports, but now it is getting easier. There were only IFR flights during the rainy season, ”he said. According to him, none of the flights of Yeti Airlines were canceled but many flights were 'diverted'.
Twenty airlines, including 11 helicopters, have been flying from the international airport. According to the Meteorological Department, the country is currently under the influence of three combined weather systems, namely the Western low pressure system and the low pressure system from Uttar Pradesh to West Bengal in India and the local wind. The weather department estimates that the weather will be cloudy and rainy for a few more days.
