After 39 days, Mantoria returned home

Mantoriya Devi Rai of Sabala Municipality-9 of Dhanusha, who became a hostage after being unable to pay the treatment expenses at the neuro hospital in Janakpur dham, has returned home after 39 days. Mantoria, who was held hostage in the hospital, was returned home on the initiative of Sabala Municipality.

Kariram Yadav, head of the municipality, said that in coordination with the district administration office Dhanusha, Mantoria was returned home on Wednesday. Mayor Yadav has contributed Rs.1 lakh. He said that Mantoria was released from bond on the condition that the remaining amount would be collected and paid from the donor.

On Monday, Mayor Yadav and Administrative Officer of District Administration Office Dhanusha Kiran Kumar Mishra reached the hospital and inquired about the condition of Mantoria. From the meeting of the executive, it was decided to provide him with medical expenses and to take the initiative to free him from hostage.

Mantoria was admitted to the neuro hospital in Janakpur dham after being hit by a motorcycle on January 12th. Although the hospital discharged her on March 20, she could not return home as she could pay for the treatment. Eight lakh 74 thousand rupees were due for treatment at the hospital. Mantoria was held hostage for 38 days along with her three children and elderly father-in-law when she could not pay.
