Bodies of two workers of Melamchi Water Supply Project recovered

The bodies of two workers of Melamchi Water Supply Project who had gone missing in the flood have been recovered. A total of eight workers of the project had gone missing due to the flood in the Melamchi River. 

The bodies that have been recovered are of two Chinese nationals. One has been identified as 47-year-old Yuchi Zhu and the other as 22-year-old Goga Tiang Shiao, informed Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchowk, Arun Pokhrel. Both the Chinese nationals are associated with Chinese company Sinohydro. 

The Chinese nationals were identified through the identity cards that were recovered from their bodies. 

Till date, 78 workers of the project have already been evacuated from the site due to the danger posed by the flood. Meanwhile, six workers are still missing. Two Nepalis, three Chinese nationals and three Indians who were involved in the construction of the headworks of the project had gone missing in the flood.
