Six workers involved in the Melamchi Water Supply Project in Melamchi have gone missing. The workers went missing in the floods caused by the Melamchi River and Indrawati River in Sindhupalchowk district.
Meanwhile, the Nepal Army has rescued 47 workers of the water project. Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchowk, Arun Pokhrel, informed that Nepal Army personnel had used a helicopter to rescue the 47 workers of the project.
CDO Pokhrel said that since the six workers of the Melamchi Water Supply Project had been out of contact and it was not possible to ascertain anything at the moment. He informed that of the seven people who had gone missing in the district the bodies of two dead have been recovered.
The floods had washed away the camp housing the labourers. The labourers were working on the construction of the headworks of the drinking water project.
