During his official visit to the Lebanese Peace Mission Area, Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma today paid a courtesy call on President Michel Aoun.
During the meeting, President Aoun praised the contribution made by 31 Nepali peacekeepers for the establishment of peace in Lebanon and noted the excellent relationship between the local community and the Nepali peacekeepers.
He openly praised the contribution made by the Nepal Peace Corps in environmental protection and other community projects. During the meeting, Chief of Army Staff Sharma conveyed a message of goodwill from the President of Nepal, Bidyadevi Bhandari, to the President of Lebanon and thanked the Lebanese President for his support and assistance to the Nepalese peacekeepers.
After completing his five-day visit to Lebanon, General Sharma, along with a delegation, left for Syria today. After visiting Syria, General Sharma is scheduled to visit the United States.
On the same day, he left for Lebanon for an official visit to the Peace Mission area.
