Shiva Aryal, who is contesting from Rampur Municipality on behalf of the CPN (UML), has put forward the concept of 'Digital Rampur'.
"Citizens of the wards far away from the center of Rampur city will no longer have to go to the center to get services. The digital concept has been brought so that they can get services from the ward at home. I am determined to make Rampur a model digital Rampur if elected as the mayor," he said.
As some ward offices are being operated in rented houses, Aryal is expressing commitment to provide comfortable services by managing them and provide effective health services by operating ambulance service in each ward.
Candidates are in the election campaign with a plan to upgrade the development infrastructure and complete the unfinished work and make Rampur a prosperous and model city within the next five years.
Raman Bahadur Thapa, who is contesting for the post of mayor on behalf of the Nepali Congress, has announced to raise the living standard of the people by overall development of Rampur Municipality.
"Even in the last election, I was elected as the mayor by the voters here. In five years, we have completed 90 percent of the work mentioned in the manifesto. If we get another chance, we will complete the work of five years within two years," he said.
Bal Kumari Thapa is the Congress candidate for the post of deputy chief while Durga Devi Rana is the UML candidate.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party's candidate for the post of city chief Rajendra Dhakal and deputy chief candidate Gayatri Neupane are also going door to door to win the trust of the people.
Candidates are expressing commitment to run schemes like Rampur Nagar, Self-Employment Program, One Town One Special Production Program in Agriculture, Promotion of Historical, Religious and Tourist Sites in the Municipality, One Ward One Garden Program and Construction of Airport within a year.
In Tansen Municipality, Nepali Congress candidate for the post of mayor Santosh Lal Shrestha, CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Pratiksha Sinjali, CPN-UML candidate for the post of chief Dhanendra Raj Ghimire and Shashi Shrestha are in the fray. Candidates here are making issues like tourism promotion, drinking water, garbage management as election issues.
