Constitutional session at the Supreme court from today

The long-delayed constitutional session of the Supreme Court is starting today. The Court was repeatedly affected by the contraction of the service due to the risk of corona infection. The Court has not been able to convene since last September after Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana.

The session has started after the voting process started in the Supreme Court. However, since the Constitution itself provides for the appointment of other judges by the Chief Justice on the recommendation of the Judicial Council, there is no need to go through a round of voting to decide the judges sitting in the court.

Earlier, Chief Justice Rana, in his commitment to the Bar Association, had promised to form a constitutional bench according to seniority.
