The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that the coming weeks will be challenging as the COVID-19 pandemic has already spread across the country.
Issuing a press statement on Monday, the Health Ministry has urged all to be more cautious and adopt health safety protocol strictly.
The Ministry joint spokesperson Dr Samir Adhikari issuing a press release has said despite rigorous efforts to control the pandemic, the rate of the spreading of the virus has not declined yet. He has urged all not to organise or participate in any kind of public gathering in the pretext of holding religious, cultural and political activities.
He has said public mobility has not fully come under control yet. Complete restriction is the only effective method to control the spread of coronavirus. The Ministry has urged all to join hands to combat the pandemic.
The Ministry has alerted that the infection rate is high in districts including Morang, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchok, Rupandehi, Morang, Kailali, Kakawanpur, Dhanusha, Sunsari, Parsa, Bardiya, Banke and Palpa.
The Health Ministry today reported 9,198 new cases of coronavirus infection. With this, the COVID count has reached 464,218. Additionally, 49 persons have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the antigen test.
Likewise, 214 persons succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
