Driver killed in Kaski bus accident

A driver died during treatment and eight passengers were injured after a bus rolled 30 metres below the highway.

A driver has died in a bus accident on the Pokhara-Baglung road today. Eight passengers have been injured in the accident.

The bus (Lu 1 Kha 7766) heading towards Baglung from Bhairahawa had fallen about 30 meters from the Pokhara-Baglung road section at Annapurna Gaunpalika-3 Paudur Ghumti of Kaski. The deceased has been identified as Bhupnath Khanal, 45, of Palpa. According to Sundar Tiwari, Deputy Superintendent of Police, he died at the Western Regional Hospital under Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences.

The injured passengers are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Pokhara. The injured have been identified as Shivaram Sharma, 29, of Laharepipal, Baglung Municipality-6, Krishna Khadka, 48, of Thuldhunga, Baglung, Raju Shrestha, 25, of Balewa, Baglung Municipality-14, his father Umlal Shrestha, 85, Suvarna Sapkota, 42, of Baglung Municipality-2, Surya Tiwari, 35, of Nagarpalika-4, Sadhana Upadhyaya of Bharatpur Mahaganarpalika-3, Chitwan and Maya Vik of Annapurna Gaonpalika-3, Paudur.
