The floods in the Chhabdi River have washed away a concrete bridge joining Ward No. 1 and Ward No. 13 of Byas Municipality in Tanahun district. The District Police Office of Tanahun informed that the bridge which was located close to a leather tanning factory in Buddha Singh Marg has been swept away by the river.
People living in Belbas, Pokharibhanjyang, Benikot and Gudi, among other places have been affected due to the bridge being washed away by the floods that occurred on Wednesday night.
Vehicles plying between Buddha Singh Marg and Keshavtar Marg have also been halted. The vehicles cannot be operated at present due to the landslides in Dumre along the Prithvi Highway. The District Police Office of Tanahun has said that effort are on to clear the debris on the highway.
