Four arrested on charge of rape in Bhojpur, Rupandehi, Bardiya

Police in Bhojpur district on Thursday morning arrested a man on the charge of raping his 15-year-old daughter from Bhojpur Municipality.

The name of the 35-year-old accused has not been disclosed.

The accused had been repeatedly raping his daughter for one year by threatening her. Again on May 5, he allegedly raped the child when there was nobody at home. On the basis of the First Information Report (FIR), security personnel deployed from the Bhojpur-based District Police Office nabbed the accused.

Meanwhile, police in Rupandehi district on Thursday afternoon arrested two youths on the charge of raping a 38-year-old woman from Sainamaina Municipality-2.

The accused have been identified as Chhetra Bahadur Thapa (26) and Santosh Rana (21), both residents of the same municipality in Rupandehi district.

They allegedly raped the woman while she was grazing her goats at Sainamaina Municipality-based community forest.

Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Ranyaura-based Area Police Office nabbed the accused.

Similarly, Bardiya police on Thursday evening arrested a youth on charge of raping a 27-year-old woman from Balapur in Barbardiya Municipality-5.

The accused has been identified as Rupesh Tharu, a 19-year-old resident of the same municipality in Bardiya district.

Rupesh allegedly raped the woman on May 19 at Patthar Kulo. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Baniya-based Area Police Office nabbed him.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, informed the police.
