Gaurishankar village municipality of Dolakha is going to provide free ambulance service for persons with disabilities and pregnant women.
The first meeting of the village executive committee has decided to provide free ambulance service for class A disabled and pregnant women in the village municipality. Due to the geographical remoteness, there is no well-equipped hospital in the municipality and people have to go to Charikot and Kathmandu for treatment.
Earlier, the municipality had fixed a fixed fare for ambulances carrying patients inside and outside the district. Shyam Sundar Tamang, deputy chief of the municipality, said that there is no need to rent a vehicle for the disabled and pregnant women in the municipality seeking health facilities anymore
Similarly, the meeting of the executive committee has decided to operate the service center targeting the village center and other wards within the municipality.
