Youth and Sports Minister Maheshwarjung Gahatraj has said that the government is giving priority to creating an environment where the youth who have returned from abroad can do something in their own country. While inaugurating the training program 2079 on the conditions, problems and potential of youth returning from foreign employment organized by the Returnee Youth Network under the National Youth Council today at the council office, Sanothimi, he said that the government is trying to connect the youth returning from foreign employment to self-employment and production.
Stating that the government has taken forward various programs for youth employment and allocated budget for it, Minister Gahatraj emphasized that the various plans and programs brought for the youth should be integrated and carried forward in such a way as to give concrete results. The Executive Vice President of the National Youth Council, Surendra Basnet, emphasized that the government should come up with a plan to utilize the skills, labor and efficiency learned abroad by the youth who have returned from abroad. He said that if they can use the experience and skills they have learned during their foreign employment, they can become the backbone of nation building.
In the program, Executive Director of Youth Self-Employment Fund Vishwamohan Adhikari said that the fund has brought forward various programs to make youth self-employed. On that occasion, the Executive Director of the Foreign Employment Board, Rajan Prasad Shrestha, said that the board is trying to bring a special program for the youth who have returned from working abroad. Urging the youth to find opportunities within the country, young economist DP Dhakal discussed the situation, problems, challenges and opportunities of the Nepalese labor market.
In the program, Director of Technical Education and Vocational Training Council (CTEVT) Anoj Bhattarai said that the program has been put forward to make the youth who have returned from abroad more skilled by connecting them with skills and technology.
Kazi Thapa, member of the Central Secretariat of Returnee Migrant Nepal, Savin Khadka, vice president of the network, highlighted the rationale of the program and discussed the problems and expectations of youth who have returned from foreign employment. Subas Dhakal, the chairman of the returnee network and the chairman of the program, said that the training was conducted to make a plan on how to take the youth who returned from foreign employment to self-employment and production.
