Reinforcing the association with Prayas Nepal, Himalaya Airlines continued its CSR support for ‘Step towards Education’ with year-long educational supplies for the fifth year in a row.

During a brief interaction program held on Sept 29, 2021, Himalaya Airlines officials handed over the stationery including notebooks, registers, pens and the academic course books for various grades to the children of Prayas Nepal. The airlines also provided different educational COVID-19 safety posters for display in the organization to increase awareness of the safety protocols.

Prayas Nepal is home to 26 aspiring children including 3 special needs children as well. Over the past few years, these children have excelled in their academic as well as extracurricular activities like dance, sports etc. During the brief visit, the officials of Himalaya Airlines interacted with the children and gave them a brief in regards to protection against COVID-19 to stay safe.

Reiterating Himalaya’s annual commitment to Prayas Nepal, Mrs Ujjwala Dali, Head of Department - Brand and Service Improvement remarked, “We have firm commitment to our CSR activities and Step towards Education is one such initiative to keep our association with Prayas Nepal alive for the bright future of their children. The important aim is to advance equity in education and help every child with dreams and determination to achieve their potential. With an improving pandemic situation, Govt is planning to reopen the schools and children are hopeful for ‘in person” schooling. On the threshold of the biggest festival of Dashain, Himalaya has thus chosen to bring smiles on the faces of Prayas Nepal’s children.”

While expressing gratitude on behalf of Prayas Nepal, President, Ms Mani Joshi, said, “Himalaya Airlines is like a family to us and we are ever grateful for their continual support since 2017. Their contribution to our children’s educational needs and interactive visits have always provided a boost to our children. We hope this bond remains everlasting. We wish for Himalaya’s continual success and extend heartiest wishes to Himalaya family for the upcoming auspicious occasion of Bada Dashain.”

Prayas Nepal was established in 2003 with a fore thought to empower the underprivileged children through education, awareness and skillful training. This organization has been running a children’s home for orphaned, abandoned and physically challenged children from different parts of Nepal since its establishment.
