The construction work of hospitals at five local levels of Makwanpur is progressing fast.

For this, hospital building is being constructed at four local levels through land selection and bidding, while the land selection process at one local level has moved forward.

It is said that the construction work of the hospital has been started in five local levels of Makwanpur under the construction work of the hospital which was laid on the same day on November 3 last year. Apart from Indrasarovar Municipality, Thahan Municipality, Raksiragang Municipality, Manahari Municipality and Kailash Municipality have expedited the construction of the hospital.

A 15-bed hospital is being constructed in Ward No. 4 of Thahanagar at a cost of Rs. 125.6 million in Thaha Municipality. Mayor Lovesher Bista said that the hospital would be completed by April 2080 BS, despite the time spent on land search and DPR.

There is a dilapidated hospital in Manahari Bazaar of Manahari Village Municipality-7 and construction work of a 15-bed hospital has been started at the same place at a cost of Rs. 101.5 million. After the demolition of the dilapidated building of the hospital, it took time to construct a temporary building. The village municipality has stated that the construction work of the new hospital building has started now.

Similarly, a hospital is being constructed at Thadebhir in Raksiragang Municipality-5, said Raj Kumar Malla, chairman of the municipality. Stating that the village municipality, which is a remote area of the district, has started the construction work of a 10-bed hospital building at a cost of Rs 60 million, he informed that the construction work will be completed within the next two years.

Similarly, Kailash Municipality, a remote area of the district, has also started construction of a 10-bed hospital building by signing a contract worth Rs. 59.2 million. According to Devraj Chaulagari, Chief Administrative Officer of Kailash Village Municipality-3, the hospital building is being constructed from last September after signing a contract for the hospital being constructed in Kalitar.

Meanwhile, the Indrasarovar Municipality has not been able to start the construction process of the hospital building yet due to lack of land. The process of bringing 7 ropanis of land of Nepal Electricity Authority near Kulekhani Dam of Indrasarovar Village Municipality-2 to the ownership of the village municipality has been started even though it seems suitable. But the delay in the NEA has caused problems in the construction of the hospital, said Balram Lamsal, chief administrative officer of the village. The village municipality has stated that there is a plan to build a five-bed hospital in Indrasarovar at a cost of Rs. 8 million.
