A programme has begun to provide land to the landless people and manage the unmanaged settlements.
The programme has come to an effect with the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the National Land Commission and local governments in the district.
As informed, 10 local governments of the district, excluding Helambu and Panchpokhari Thangpal rural municipality had signed the MoU.
In order to identify and certify landless Dalit, squatters and unsettled households and also to distribute land, a programme was organized at Chautara on Sunday on the initiative of the National Land Commission district committee.
National Land Commission District Committee chairperson Jhanka Prasad Parajuli shared that it has opened up ways to distribute land to the landless Dalit and squatters and manage the unmanaged settlements in Sindhupalchowk according to the rule.
He further informed that a process has been put forward to distribute land to the community for agriculture and house construction.
