At a time when people suffering from COVID-19 are struggling to get oxygen cylinder due to its scarcity in the market across the nation, elected representatives of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City have assured locals about the adequate availability of medical oxygen supply in Itahari.

Speaking to the local press personnel, Laxmi Gautam, the deputy mayor of Itahari, assured of adequate supplies of urgent oxygen cylinders to locals. ''Out of five oxygen industries in our Province No. 1, two are in Itahari itself', said Gauatm. She added, ''Therefore, we have no shortage of oxygen cylinders here. I have personally inspected the industries situated at 10 number and 11 number wards of our local level and also have talked to the operators. They have committed to providing adequate oxygen cylinders.''

According to Ram Kumar Dhamala, the emergency in-charge of Itahari Hospital, there are 842 infected COVID-19 victims currently undergoing treatment. So far 12 have succumbed to the disease as of March 15.

Itahari local government has prepared a 50-bed isolation center at Itahari Stadium situated at 9 number ward of the city. The isolation came into operation on May 12.
