Male rhino found dead in Chitwan

A male rhino of around 16 years has been found dead in Bharatpur Metropolitan-16, said Bal Krishna Khanal, information Officer of Chitwan Forest Office.

The rhino was found dead in Bijayanagar-based Ganesh Temple in the East direction that is almost 500 meters from Siddhiganesh Community Forest.

The technical team has conducted an autopsy on the body. We have yet to know if the rhino died itself or was killed. The reports will be ready after the final exams, said Khanal.

The technical team of the Division Forest Office, Chitwan National Park, and National Nature Conservation Fund have managed the body for now.

There is no injury reported in the body. The horn and other parts of the rhino are kept safe at Jhanjhane Division Forest Post office.
