Man killed in Rhino attack

Reshmalal Mahat, 65, of Shergunj in Kawasoti-15 has died after being attacked by a rhinoceros in Kawasoti of Nawalparasi (east of Bardaghat-Susta).

He was attacked by a rhinoceros from the intermediate zone while relaxing on a field near his own house. According to Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, Information Officer and Assistant Conservation Officer of Chitwan National Park, Mahat died on Wednesday night while undergoing treatment at Madhyabindu District Hospital, Danda. The locals have been losing their lives every year due to the attack of rhinos coming out of the park and intermediate areas in the district.

According to the latest national rhino census 2077, there are 752 rhinos in Nepal and 694 rhinos have been found in Chitwan National Park alone.
