The Ministry of Health and population has refuted the media reports about the procurement of COVID vaccines from China, their quantity, price, delivery and other relevant information.

Issuing a press statement today, the Health Ministry asserted that the Government of Nepal has approached COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing countries to provide the vaccine on a grant or procurement basis.

It said Nepal has already received 1.8 million doses of the vaccines as grant assistance from China and the process to secure more vaccines from different countries including the northern neighbour is still ongoing.

The MoHP has further stated that such reports by media are premature, inaccurate, speculative and misleading.
