A Karnali State Level Committee of Rashtriya Food Bank Limited has been formed. A 13-member ad hoc committee has been formed under the coordination of Karnali State Assemblymember Padma Khadka at a meeting held in Surkhet today.
The members of the committee are Purna Prasad Poudel, Chandra Thani, Shanti Singh, Dev Prasad Poudel, Bhimsen Pun, Prem Shahi, Deep Bahadur Mahatara, Hemant Wali, Tara Giri, Nirak Wali, Purna Prasad Acharya, and Yagya Dhakal. The Food Bank, which was established under the slogan 'Sustainable Agricultural Production is Our Campaign for Nutritious Food', has stated that it will soon set up a state-level office.
Khadka informed that the bank has established a branch in Karnali with the objective of making farmers self-reliant, promoting organic and natural food production, operating a seed bank, and emphasizing food and agriculture research.
